City  of  Texarkana,  Texas  officials  and  D  Hospitality,  LLC  held  a  briefing  on  June  16,  2010  for
interested  design/build  firms  for  the  Texarkana  Convention  Center  and  Hilton  Garden  Inn
project.      Fourteen  firms  from  throughout  the  region  received  the  Statement  of  Qualifications
(SOQ)  packet  and  had  an  opportunity  to  have  their  questions  regarding  the  selection  process
answered and tour the site on Cowhorn Creek Road.

Mike  Daugherty  of  D  Hospitality  commented,  “We’re  excited  to  be  taking  this  next  step  and
encouraged by the high level of interest in our project.  We’ll work with the City to select the
firm that we believe will deliver a premier quality product in the most cost‐effective manner.”

The completed SOQ packets are due back to General Services Director Jim Powell by 2:00 p.m.
on June 30, 2010.  “We expect the selection process to take approximately 45 days,” added Jack
Daugherty.    “Choosing  the  right  firm  to  design  and  build  the  convention  center  and  hotel  is  a
crucial step in the process.”
